What is the Good News?
The Good News (also called the Gospel) is that God loves you, cares for you, and has a plan for your life. Even though we all make mistakes, God sent His Son, Jesus, to help us. Jesus came to show us how much God loves us, and He took the atonement for the wrong things we’ve done. Jesus died for us, but He didn’t stay dead. He came back to life, and because of this, we can have a fresh start with God.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
The Bible says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”, All of us have done things we regret—things that hurt ourselves or others. These things create distance between us and God. But God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to fix that distance. Jesus willingly died so that we don’t have to face the punishment for our mistakes. His death and resurrection (coming back to life) made a way for us to be forgiven and close to God.
It means that no matter who you are or what you’ve done, Jesus offers you a fresh start. He offers you forgiveness for your mistakes and a new life with hope and peace. This is a gift, and it’s free for everyone who chooses to believe in Him.
If you feel ready to start this new journey with Jesus, you can simply say a prayer like this:
“Dear Jesus, I know I’ve made mistakes. Thank you for dying for me and rising again. I want to follow you and live a new life. Please come into my heart and help me live for you. Amen.”
By praying this, you’re telling Jesus you trust Him, and you want Him to be a part of your life. This is the first step toward a new relationship with God!
